AIR CONDITIONING TECHNICIAN

Department: Air Conditioning Contract
Reporting To: Contract Manager.
Duties:Maintenance and repair of a variety of Air Conditioning units fitted to armoured vehicles and transportable communication, repair and office facilities used by the British Army. Fault finding of both electrical and refrigerant related problems on systems using hermetic, reciprocating, and automotive type compressors and using 12, 24, 240 and 415 volt electrical systems. Liaison with Military unit representatives to arrange repair visits and to assess priorities. Completion of Work sheets and updating of on site database. Supervising contract and maintaining adequate stocks of spares while leading technician is in theatre. Extensive travel to sites all over the UK and Germany, and in theatre breakdown cover for training exercises and Operations in places such as Afghanistan and Iraq.Assisting with the I.T management of the Site Computer Network and associated hardware/software.
